Sports Chiropractic in Brisbane

Sports and exercise-related injuries can affect anyone, from weekend runners and gym members to competitive athletes. An overuse concern, muscle strain, or joint injury may limit training, work, and everyday movement. At Stott Chiropractic, we take an evidence-informed approach that combines hands-on care with rehabilitation and exercise, based on your injury, activity level, and goals.

Looking Beyond the Painful Area

Your first visit includes an assessment of both the spine and extremity joints, including the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles where relevant. We look at how the affected area is moving and consider the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. Recommendations are based on your assessment findings and stage of recovery. Each option is selected according to your individual needs rather than applying the same approach to every injury. Depending on your presentation, care may include:

  • Chiropractic adjustments
  • Dry needling
  • Soft tissue therapy
  • Cold laser therapy

Sports and Exercise Concerns We Commonly See

People visit the clinic with a broad range of activity-related concerns, including:

  • Overuse injuries
  • Tendinopathies
  • Bursitis
  • Muscle strains
  • Ligament sprains
  • Irritated joints and muscles
  • Tennis or golfer’s elbow
Cold laser therapy may be considered for certain soft tissue concerns, including strains and tendinopathies, where clinically appropriate. Some patients attend specifically for rehabilitation or laser therapy without receiving chiropractic adjustments.

Rehab Built Around Your Goals

Rehabilitation is an important part of the approach at the clinic. Our onsite gym allows us to demonstrate strengthening, mobility, and rehabilitation exercises suited to your current ability and the demands of your sport or activity. You may also receive a home exercise program aimed at improving movement, rebuilding strength, and reducing the likelihood of the same issue recurring where possible. Recommendations can be updated as your function changes and you begin returning to work, training, or everyday activities. Not everyone requires ongoing chiropractic care. Some people attend for a defined period while recovering from an injury and finish once their goals have been met. Others return when a new concern develops or choose periodic appointments based on their individual preferences and activity levels. The frequency and duration of care are discussed with you rather than assumed.
